Between the humidity and recent rain, my concrete pool deck started showing these nasty green algae stains last week and now I'm wondering if pool chlorine can clean them off. My concrete pool deck is absolutely filthy with algae stains and dirt buildup, and nothing seems to work. I've scrubbed until my arms hurt and tried different cleaners, but these green stains just won't budge.

I have tons of pool chlorine sitting around and I'm wondering if I can use that to blast these concrete stains away? I don't want to damage the surface or create some kind of chemical disaster, but I'm running out of options. If chlorine works, what's the right way to dilute it? During my pool inspection today I'm staring at this above ground liner with wear and fading covering every inch, wondering if this thing can actually be reused. My above ground pool liner is about 3 years old and looks to be in decent shape - no major tears that I can see, though there might be some minor stretching around the edges.

The pool store told me I'd need to be really careful removing it if I want to reuse it, but they seemed kind of hesitant about whether it's actually a good idea. I'm wondering if anyone has experience with reusing liners? Is it actually cost-effective or am I just setting myself up for problems down the road? Wondering if my pool renovation is draining my savings account because I keep second-guessing whether my inground pool actually needs a liner. The white slime on my pool walls tripled in size after I followed three different YouTube cleaning tutorials. I've been treating it like regular green algae - shocked it multiple times, balanced my chemicals, the whole nine yards. But this white stuff just keeps coming back and it doesn't look like any algae I've dealt with before.

Is white algae even a thing? Or am I dealing with something completely different here? The texture is almost... fluffy? And it seems to stick to surfaces more than regular algae. I'm starting to think I need a different approach but I don't want to keep throwing chemicals at the wrong problem.…more
