Halfway through winter prep I've tried partial winterization, full chemical shutdown, and running it with a heater — but I'm still getting conflicting advice about leaving my above ground pool up year-round.

Called three pool companies for quotes and nearly choked — is there a DIY way to handle all this overwhelming maintenance for under $100? The pool store gave me a whole list of things that need to be done regularly, and I'm realizing it's way more work than I expected.
